This week, we would like to highlight a resource on AAMFT’s Coronavirus Resource Page. Disastershock: How to Cope with the Emotional Stress of a Major Disaster has a systemic, trauma-informed, and evidence-based foundation, making the manual an excellent resource for marriage and family therapists who work with children of all ages. Download the manual, available in four languages.
This resource was produced by AAMFT members who serve on the board for the Institute for School-Based Family Counseling and are part of the Disastershock Global Volunteer Team, which has members from 16 countries.
In addition to our year-round advocacy and educational opportunities, the COVID-19 pandemic has mandated AAMFT’s quick response in equipping our profession with resources to adapt to the present situation. The Disastershock manual and other resources for MFTs relating to practice and telehealth are available at www.aamft.org/coronavirus.
