Last week, the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee unanimously passed S. 785, the Commander John Scott Hannon Veterans Mental Health Care Improvement Act. This bill would combat veteran suicide and improve veterans' access to mental health care. The bill contains several provisions that would improve the hiring of MFTs within the VA. Thanks to Senators John Tester (D-MT) and Jerry Moran (R-KS) for introducing this bill and for the support from the entire Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
