update to Support Access to Mental Health Services
A scheduled vote on legislation that would make significant changes to the U.S. healthcare system was delayed on Friday, March 24. The legislation, known as the American Health Care Act (AHCA), was intended tor replace the Affordable Care Act. AAMFT, and other health organizations raised concerns that the legislation would increase the number of uninsured individuals, reduce access to mental health services, and substantially change Medicaid. Thank you to all the members who wrote in to Congress. AAMFT will continue to advocate for increased mental health access and parity.
